Sip your way through Fresno County’s wineries. The county produces a large sum of the state’s wine grapes. More than a dozen wineries are located across county—the perfect excursion for wine lovers near and far.
Fresno Wineries
The glass is always half full when you visit the wineries in Fresno. Ziveli Winery taps in to their European roots, starting with their name “Ziveli” which means cheers in Croatian! Get ready to raise a glass and feel a warm welcome when you stop by for a tasting or their weekly events. Enjoy wine and live music at Engelmann Cellars. You can reserve a table during their summer events or bring your own blanket. Sample and pick up wine made by Fresno State students! The Fresno State Winery is a student-run vineyard that produces different wines throughout the year.
Try a variety of wines at Saint Joaquin Wine Bar in Downtown Fresno. The bar also hosts jazz nights and trivia. Head over to Lune Wine Bar, also located in Downtown Fresno, to sample wines, spritzes and sangria. Lune also offers charcuterie boards and other shareable dishes to eat during your tastings.

Clovis Wineries
In Clovis, stop by 3 Oaks Vineyard & Winery. The boutique-style vineyard offers many varieties of wine including Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. They also host creative workshops throughout the year, from charcuterie board building, holiday-themed events and more.
If you're in Old Town Clovis, visit Cork & Knife, a wine and cheese bar that features local wines from all over the county. It's a great place for those looking for a fun culinary experience. The store offers a variety of wines to pair with artisanal cheeses.
Fresno County Wineries
You'll find more great wineries just a short drive from Fresno and Clovis. Kings River Winery in Sanger offers private tours and tastings. They're best known for their sparkling wine, and have an intimate tasting room. They also host several events throughout the year. In Friant, get a great view of the Sierra foothills while sipping various wines at Solitary Cellars. During the summer, they host several events with live music.
In western Fresno County, stop by Cardella Winery in Mendota. The family-run winery brings a taste of Tuscany right in Fresno County and provide tours of the facility. Yribarren Family Vineyards is a boutique, family-run vineyard that produces wines, almonds, pistachios and raisins. Stop by to pick up one of their specialty wines.

Welcome to the Fresno State Winery
In 1997, Fresno State Winery became the first commercially bonded winery on a University Campus in the nation. Decades later, we are still the largest commercial winery on a University campus in the U.S. With our on campus estate vineyards, crush facitily, barrel room and bottling room, we are the both the learning lab for Enology students' and a trusted brand for big, bold, locally produced wines. In addition to our estate wines, many of our fruit lots are donated from vineyards in highly acclaimed growing areas (e.g., Napa, Sonoma, and Amador Counties). Regardless of their origin, all of our wines are student-made right on the Fresno State campus.

The bend in the San Joaquin River cradles lush vineyards where the history of Croatian winemaking springs to life. We are the Nale family, and this is our home. Our connection to the old country brings the coastal Dalmation heritage of Croatia’s wines to the most fertile farmland in the world. Ziveli wines are like us – European roots with a decidedly Californian twist. In fact, the names of our wines are reflective of our connection to the San Joaquin Valley and the important role the river plays in our growing operation.
This is a place to be “in the moment.” Every design detail of our facility and wine production process is an expression of our family’s love of each other and our zest for life. Our tasting room spreads out into a 5,000 square foot barn where you can enjoy and purchase our wines, or join us for one of our special events. Ziveli (pronounced zhe vah lee’), or rather Živjeli, is the Croatian word for “Cheers” and serves as the mantra for how we want our customers to feel when they enjoy what we’ve created. So from our family to yours, raise a glass with us and celebrate what’s most important: joy, love, and quality.
